The Green Jewel of Mount Lebanon

Project type

Book

Date

2024

Location

Baakline, Shouf, Mount Lebanon

This Book underscores the significance of digitally scanning the historic Cedars, or the Green Jewels of Mount Lebanon as commonly known, along with the landmark paths and historical routes. The objective is to comprehensively digitize the terrain model records and discover the embedment of algorithmic trajectories within Lebanese sites and Mediterranean villages, thereby aiding in the digital preservation of these historic sites.

We present the landmarks in Maaser El Chouf as our case study.

Following the approach of Volume 1 in the golden algorithm section, this volume delves into the Modulor by analyzing the trajectory of Cedar routes, their juxtaposition, and the profiles of their oldest trees. The following example illustrates how parametric associations to specific tree types are embedded and how these associations interact with geographical and three-dimensional coordinates.

This innovative methodology has not been discussed or documented in any previous literature, making this book the first publication to identify and explore it.
